About Us
Our
church was established in 1938 as the result of a tent revival that met
across the road from the current church. The members of that meeting
felt the need for an active ministry in the Mt. Olive community. As the
years past Mt. Olive grew. We are now in our second building and still
expecting great things for the future.
I came on board here as the pastor in March of
2007. My wife is one of our pianist. I have two children. My daughter
is 11 and my son is 8 years old. We have enjoyed getting to know the
people of Talladega and hope to have a long tenure.
I am a carpenter by trade and enjoy working on
houses. I'm a hands on kind of person and like to see results. I've
been very pleased with the results of our efforts here. God has truly
moved in the hearts of the people in and around our church. The
people of Mt. Olive have been very supportive of new ideas and
activities to reach our community. They have a heart for missions here
and abroad. I'm sure that if you come to Mt. Olive for a visit you'll
see that it is a place you could call home.
Our Purpose Statement is simple. Mt.
Olive Baptist Church is a body of born-again believers
working together to educate and equip our members to fulfill the Great
Commission.
We are Servants of the Savior.
Regardless of
where you choose to attend church I want you to
know the plan of salvation. We use the ABC's to help us explain
this.
A- Admit your a sinner.

B- Believe that Jesus
is God's Son. John 3:16,17
C- Confess Jesus as
your Savior. Ro. 10:9-13
s- Support. Join a
local church family and read the Bible. Acts 2:41-42; 2 Tim. 3:16
